Network for Older Adults

Network for Older Adults (formerly SAGE Maine, an affiliate of SAGE USA) is a program of EqualityMaine. Network for Older Adults (or NOA) is a statewide program that seeks to support, connect, and advocate with LGBTQ+ older adults in our community. In November 2019, NOA joined with EqualityMaine to ensure the longevity and sustainability of the network.

In the past, NOA’s members and volunteers have organized monthly dinners, movie nights, ukulele groups, and more! They also provided resources for older adults across the state in need of support and community.

NOA currently has ongoing in person and virtual programming!
A list of regularly occurring programs include:

  • Community Meals: Monthly meals in Augusta, Bangor, Ellsworth, Hallowell, Houlton, and Portland.
  • Virtual Statewide Social Hour: Statewide get-together on Zoom happening on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 5:00 – 6:00 PM. Please see our events calendar for the Zoom link!
  • Virtual Speaker Series: Open to anyone across the state, this series features speakers sharing about various topics on Zoom on the second Friday of every other month.
  • Rainbow Reels: A monthly movie gathering in collaboration with the Equality Community Center (ECC) in Portland.
