The New Leaders Project Summer Camp is a week-long LGBTQ+ youth summer overnight camp that aims to strengthen leadership skills, build resilience, and provide opportunities for self-affirming discovery and personal growth. At camp, we strive to foster real connections and relationships between LGBTQ+ youth, allies, and a team of dedicated counselors and staff. We aim to inspire and challenge campers with passionate, experienced, and talented speakers.

Personally it helped me figure out my gender identity way more and made me feel more comfortable in my own skin for the first time in a while.

I gained community with other queer kids and queer adults. I hope to gain more confidence and learn to take up more space.

Some advice I would give to someone attending camp for the first time is to BE YOURSELF. Camp is genuinely the safest space to be yourself in a world of having to conform to societal norms. No matter what type of person you are or which ways you act, there will be people who will love you. It can be scary to meet new people at first, but once you start getting to know some people you will absolutely love it.
