2nd Annual LGBTQ Aging Symposium
Sponsored by: SAGE Maine and EqualityMaine
About the Symposium:
We gather as the LGBTQ aging population in Maine and nationally are dealing with unprecedented attacks and challenges in the past year.
Together we will learn how to identify and address the unique concerns and needs of LGBTQ older adults. We will work to develop comprehensive recommendations and action plans with elder service providers and policy experts on LGBTQ aging.
We will explore several themes: long term support services, housing, public health, senior centers and community engagement, and legal considerations. We will discuss issue areas including data collection, needs assessment, cultural competency training and evaluation, outreach and access, service delivery, complaint resolution, and, of course, legislation.
And we will take time to meet new LGBTQ+ people from around the state and enjoy live entertainment and the beautiful setting of Maple Hill Farm!
