Maine Queer Health

The Maine Queer Health Community Database is a program of MaineTransNet working to improve LGBTQ+ community health access in Maine through a centralized, community based and reviewed, list of health and wellness providers in Maine. The providers listed offer a wider variety of services, from primary care and mental health services, to sexual health, transition care, and holistic wellness practices.

Q Chat Space for LGBTQ+ teens

Q Chat Space provides online discussion groups for LGBTQ+ teens ages 13 to 19. It is not a forum. It is live and chat based; there is no video or audio. Everyone is chatting during the same pre-scheduled time.

Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence

The Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence works to end domestic abuse, dating abuse, stalking, elder abuse and commercial sex trafficking. 

MECASA: Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault

The Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault is organized to end sexual violence in Maine and to support high quality sexual violence prevention and response within Maine communities.

Maine Human Rights Commission

The State agency charged with the responsibility of enforcing Maine’s anti-discrimination laws. The Commission investigates complaints of unlawful discrimination in employment, housing, education, access to public accommodations, extension of credit, and offensive names. The Commission attempts to resolve complaints of discrimination to the mutual satisfaction of those who are involved.

Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project

The Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project is a legal aid organization that provides free legal information, assistance, and representation to Mainers with low incomes facing civil legal issues. The VLP has a small staff that recruits, trains, manages, and supports volunteers. In most VLP cases, the legal assistance is provided by pro bono attorney volunteers.

Maine Transgender Network

Provides support and resources for the transgender community, their families, and significant others, and to raise awareness about the varied forms of gender identity and expression by providing training and consultation to health and social service providers.

Maine Health Equity Alliance

A non-profit agency providing direct service and advocating on behalf of Maine's LGBTQ community, people living with HIV/AIDS, and people who use drugs.

Pine Tree Legal Assistance

PTLA is a statewide, non-profit organization committed to providing high quality, free, civil legal assistance to low-income people in Maine. Our mission is to ensure that state and federal laws affecting poor people are enforced while also addressing the systemic barriers to justice that low-income Mainers face. We are committed to ensuring that all Mainers have access to justice.

Maine Family Planning

Maine Family Planning works to ensure that all Mainers have access to high quality affordable sexual health care, especially underserved groups that face barriers to access. They strive to make sure all clients receive unbiased, confidential, medically accurate, and helpful information and medical care. All of their health centers serve LGBTQ patients with respect and dignity.
